    Explore Pacific Sea Life At The Waikiki Aquarium

    Founded in 1904, the Waikiki Aquarium is the second oldest public aquarium in the country. Built along the scenic Honolulu shoreline, overlooking a living coral reef, the aquarium invites visitors to explore its stunning native gardens and wander through exhibits that are home to over 3,500 different marine animals, fish and invertebrates. The Waikiki Aquarium is divided into 13 different display areas, each with several exhibits highlighting different animals and habitats, including sea dragons, giant clams, octopus, and jelly fish. The aquarium also offers a multitude of public programs and family friendly classes that offer hands-on fun while furthering its mission to inspire and promote understanding, appreciation and conservation of Pacific marine life.

    Admission is $12 adults; $5 children (4-12) and seniors (65+); $8 active military (with ID). Kids age 3 and under enter free.

    Open daily from 9am-4:30pm. Closed on Christmas Day and Honolulu Marathon Day.

    General admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children (3-12) and seniors (65+). Visitors can pay a little extra to enjoy unique experiences during their time at the aquarium. Get up‐close to the animals who live on the Hawaiian reef with a special hands-on experience for just $2 per person, plus regular admission. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium or visit at night to discover what fish do after dark for just $16 adults and $10 children. The aquarium offers a revolving calendar of special exhibits and activities to enhance your visit.

    More than 3,500 animals and 490 species of of marine plants and animals call the Waikiki Aquarium their home. When you visit, you'll see an array of tropical fish, marine mammals like Hawaiian Monk Seals, reptiles like green sea turtles, and invertebrates like sea stars, anemones, jellies, and Cephalopod Molluscs. Look for sea weeds and corals inside, then explore the grounds to see native plants like fan palms, Hawaiian white hibiscus and beach morning glories.
